  • People are really weird about others refusing junk food - ESPECIALLY women.

I noticed this when I used to work in an office back in my early 20s. I never ate the junk food they brought in, mostly because it was usually stuff I didn't love to eat and my mindset has always been that if I'm going to eat something really bad for me, I'm going to damn well enjoy it. So I will sometimes eat junk food, but only my absolute favourites and only when I really am craving it. Definitely not the cheap nasty shit that people brought in on a daily basis.

I was practically bullied for it. People who were nice and normal with me most of the time would suddenly turn into borderline aggressive because I said no thanks when offered a piece of gross supermarket chocolate cake. People took it personally and obsessed over it. The whole team would end up staring at me saying things like "why deny yourself? You're already slim and married, treat yourself! Do you have issues with food? Why are you so uptight? Mmm, look, chocolate cake, jealous?!"

It was really fucking weird and I'm so glad I don't work in an office anymore. Fat loves company.

    • Interesting that others have experienced the same thing. It use to really bother my wife. They would mock her for doing the right thing and being healthy.
