Is it normal for my bestfriend to get mad at me for this?

So my bestfriend and me got in a fight the other day because she said I was wearing her same hairstyle. She was wearing her hair natural and with braids and I had done the same thing but in a different way. Our hair would look very different if we were to stand next to each other. Anyway, she said she had already noticed that I "copied" her but never wanted to talk to me about it, until the other day. I told her I had already had the hair idea in my mind for a while and I did, but she didn't believe me. Should I let it go that she's mad? Should I apologize? Should I just wear my hair how I want to? Should I change it for her?
