Oh, if you had asked me a year ago, I would have firmly agreed with everyone else on this issue- I have had premarital sex, and I am a "try before you buy" type of person...
However, I did date a man who wanted to wait until marriage to have sex, which made me rethink the issue some.
First of all, we were very open when discussing things of a sexual nature, so telling him what I did and did not like, had we gotten married, would have been a non-issue. Once the lines of communication are open, sex can always be improved upon, as long as you have that level of comfort where you can be honest with your partner.
Secondly, with the insane amount of information available online and other places, it's not impossible to educate yourself on how to please your partner without actually engaging in sex. The aforementioned guy and I did do some things sexually, and although it was his first time, he was one of the best I've ever had!
At the end of the day, it's a personal decision, and there are men out there who will wait. If a man does not want to respect your decision, you have to ask yourself, is that the type of man I want to marry in the first place?
