It's human nature to stereotype. We compartmentalise information and information about people is included in this. It's one of the reasons we fall into casual racism.

It's your choice if you want to stereotype, but you should remember people are often so scared of being judged that they adopt a pose, which may be seen as stereotypical. The real person, when you get to know them, may be nothing like your first impression.

    We are all stereotyped.
If you wear black and white - Gothic
If you cry in public - Attention seeker
If you're depressed etc - Emo
If you love to learn - Nerd
If you change your feelings often - Slut
    etc...

What do you mean? She is stereotyping YOU or you are stereotyping her? And why? You clearly had an interest in her in the first place. This doesn't make much sense because stereotyping is typically done BEFORE you get to know an individual for who they really are- rather than just the immediate opinion you form about them based on whatever- skin color, gender, religion, etc. etc. So yeah it is normal (but unfortunate) to stereotype others at times, but kind of not normal that you are doing so AFTER you have begun to "get close" with someone. Or are YOU being stereotyped? And if so, why?

  • Stereotyping is basicly catagorising types of people. Most of the time they are right.
