Is it normal for me to randomly start hating my roommate?

Is it normal for me to randomly start hating my roommate? My roommate and I have lived together for the past two years. We have both come from "broken families", and have had some serious talks and even consider ourselves really close "family". However, one day about two weeks ago, I just randomly woke up and started getting pissed off at every little thing he started doing, only never really told him. I have this idea in my head now that he is always wanting to prove that he is better than me and more successful in some way through things he says. Now it has all added up and I'm not really sure why, but I just hate the guy all of a sudden and I feel as if this whole thing is my fault, even though we still try to act, "normal" to each other even though we both know something is up between the two of us, it is like we can both sense that we are enemies even though we don't know why.

is it normal for me to be acting like this or may there be some underlying thing such as anxiety or self-esteem issues going on in my head and I am just taking everything very hostile.

It's apso-fucking-lutely normal for roommates to be like this. Don't listen to these pussies who've never had a roommate before. It's an alpha male thing. Two guys can't live together for too long without there being a lot of tension. Your naturally prone to compete, so all that "better than me" stuff is normal as fuck. Straight up fighting helps a lot. Don't worry about who wins, since usually there's never a clear winner, and its just what it takes for men to be cool with one another. Weed helps too.

I knew someone like this-they had borderline personality or bipolar disorder- the docs couldnt decide. Not saying you do too, but maybe. Or, it could be that you are just at a slump in your life and if you work on it, your frame of mind will become more positive again.

No it isn't. I wouldn't want to be in a room with you where there is a a knife available. I would hate to see your mood change.
