With an irish ancestry you should be able to sympathize, to some extent, how prejudices are often inaccurate representations of reality. Throughout most of Irelands history with England irish people were seen as an inferior race of lazy, barbarous, drunkards. They were even called "white negroes" when they first immigrated to the United States. Does that adequately define you? If it does not, then you should acknowledge that your personal perspective with regard to black people is just as inaccurate and archaic as the comments made about your ancestors.
