Is it normal for kids to sit, climb, jump all over cars when you live in city?
This will help settle debate with a friend. I was telling him how, growing up in the city, us kids saw parked cars as part of the environment. We would sit on them on hot summer nights, or lay back and look at stars (that we could see), climb up on them, we used to sneak out of friends house when not supposed to be there, and climb out of window down onto parked car next to his house. In the city, cars are parked everywhere, literally. We had to climb over them just to cross the street sometimes, if they were parked bumper to bumper. (many a time practicing my dukes of hazard slide across hood)
We would use cars as bases when playing baseball or kickball in the street. My one fat friend ran for base/car and dove into fender denting it so bad. Being kids we just saw it as ooohhhh dude! We would try to pop it out but not sure it was ever really fixed. We used to sneak into used car lot behind my house, and play tag in there, running all around and over the cars.
Hard to understand where I'm coming from, but we were not being malicious at all. It sounds like it, but we were just dumb careless morons. Anyone else grow up doing similair things? I'm thinking its a city thing, as I can't picture suburb kids doing same thing.
