I think it's normal to develop attractions for cousins. I wouldn't pursue that though, considering 1st cousins are too close genetically and are much more likely to have children who develop birth defects. And more likely doesn't mean absolutely, so it is not surprising that your family doesn't have birth defects. I think it is a social taboo that developed with human evolution or social observation. I think people have such an aversion to the thought, because people are terrified of genetic defects and maybe rightfully so
