Is it normal for an american to want to live in the uk rather than the us?

1. I don't think Dr. Who is a good representation of life in the UK.

2. You have to do more than look good in a suit to be president. You have to be 35 and born in the United States.

3. You have to be 18 to vote, not 21.

4. The Queen is a figure head. The UK has a Prime Minister and Parliament.

I wouldn't want to. Your point about the queen may be correct but don't forget she also has unlimited power. I'd rather live under democracy than a monarchy with one person making all the choices

Well if your point is that America sucks, I agree whole heartedly. Who'd want to live in America when everyone in every other country looks at us and calls us overweight assholes based completely on nothing but shit. I mean, I'm not an overweight asshole, you're not an overweight asshole. Then there's the political shitstorms that happen on a regular basis. I personally don't give enough damns to pay that much attention, and sure you can look at me and spit for being unpatriotic and unappreciative but I don't give a damn. I don't want to be American anymore. If I had the money to get out of here I'd do it in a heartbeat. Only problem is I'm tied down by family and money.

I've lived in the uk all my life, if I were you i'd save up maybe to visit, I think it's a lovely place to live. Like everywhere it has its pro's and cons. I love our food, fashion, humour, weather (yes really) and we really do have some beautiful castles, landscapes and towns/villages.

I guess the negatives are above, I think visiting first would be ideal, think of an area you would want to move to, and go from there.

Why would you want to live under the rule of a queen? Even if it is a pretend queen. Brits have less freedoms than Americans, plus the CCTV all over the place. Fuuuck that, I'd rather stay in rural Texas where the drugs are cheap the roads are always open, the sun is always shinin and there's no pigass cops breathing down my neck trying to ruin my day and take my money. Theres one cop in ny town and he drinks more than I do lol

The grass is always greener they say remember. And Dr Who hardly paints an accurate picture of the UK. You would be made very welcome though. Why not just pay a visit first?

To me, the Show Skins shows me a whole lot more of the UK (a part of the UK, actually) more than Doctor Who. I live in Florida, and although I wish I was someplace else mostly because of how fucking hot it gets down here, I can still appreciate what the state (and the US in general) can offer. Even though I do hate my own country at times, I force myself to be grateful what I, as a citizen, have and what I can have.

Come for holiday but fuck no, it's not somewhere to live. It's getting worse and worse as the years go by.

The US is the land of opportunity you just have soooo many resources there. You're weather in most places is nicer too, and things are generally cheaper.

Cold, wet, rainy and foggy come to mind when I think of the UK.
But by far the freakiest thing about the UK is that they have cameras EVERYWHERE. Big brother lives there!
But the food is great, the beer makes most popular American beers taste like horse piss and some of the small country homes are really cool.
The queen does NOT rule in the UK; she is a figurehead only. They have a parliamentary system, not too unlike ours.
Everybody is pale as can be, but some of the accents are so very sexy, like the Irish one. I would do anything if an Irish girl will just talk to me; I go weak in the knees.

We live in a democratic state, the queen does not hold any power (like Spain)and whilst our government may not be as corrupt as America's it's been going downhill of late with UKIP's rising influence and that scumbag Cameron as PM.
