Is it normal for a woman to breastfeed all of her children regardless of their age? I met this woman who has four children: son 15, daughter 13, son 7, and a new born daughter. She has very large boobs and they are producing a lot of milk. Her 7 year old son was feeling left out since the baby was born. To keep him close to her, she started to let him have breast milk. Since she goes topless most of the time, it is easy for him to get a drink anytime he wants. Her other two children saw this and started to suck on mom's boobs as well. Is this OK? Is it normal and natural?

    Being topless with large lactating boobs is rather uncomfortable. And the size of the boob is no indication as to how much milk one will produce. Big boobs actually make it difficult to breast feed.

    And I'm pretty sure you have no idea what you are talking about.

        It's annoying because it distracts from the real issue of people freaking out when a mother breastfeeds her baby....baby! Sigh.

        Yeah. What Ellenna said. Babies have pug noses for a reason, to aid in breast feeding. But when the breast is larger than their head, the mother will need to use both hands to prevent suffocation.

        From personal experience, the baby's face can get buried in all that breast and the mother has to physically hold the potentially suffocating section away from the baby's face.

        Sorry if that doesn't make sense, it's a bit hard to describe, you'll have to use your imagination if you don't get it

    Personally I don't think that's normal. But I have met women that will breastfeed their children into their teenage years, but then most of those kids have a very big attraction to boobs

      It may not be normal but some women do breastfed their kids well into their teens. The woman I know and the other women who have done this with their children seem to enjoy the closeness with their children. They seem to do it with their sons more than their daughters. A teenage son sucking on their mother's breasts seems strange but there has to be a special mother-son bond. Not all 16, 17 or 18 year old boys get to suck on their mother's boobs.

    There was a user on here, Milkymum, who did this exact thing. It evolved into a sexual and perverted situation for her and her sons.

    I have nothing against the human body, but considering the situation as a whole, this is extremely innapropiate. It's very weird. She waited too damn long to sever this cord with her children. This is an extremely unhealthy relationship, that will steadily worsen. Do those kids a favor and call Child Protective Services. I don't know what else could be done at this point, since she is showing no signs of an intention to stop.

    No I can understand a baby or a toddler but not grade school children. There are other ways to bond with your older kids.
