  • I think this is the firsttime I've heard this. Usually it seems to be the flip side and the bright kids are ignored and become bored/forgotten and the others get rewarded for less in an attempt to help them. I think both ways is wrong and I don't envy the teacher who has to make the decision because you physically cannot focus on everyone. Ideally splitting these kids up is the best strategy and with honors classes and remedial classes this is attempted but this leads to labeling which can be more damaging than being ignored in the long run. It's and insolvable problem.
