Is it normal for a new boyfriend to hold back in sex at first

My new boyfriend wants to have sex with me almost everyday bc he's been deprived of intercourse for over a year. I can't tell if he is holding back in bed despite our frequency of having sex back to back, because of the fact that he doesn't want to scare me off. Or is he giving me all he's got? I ask this bc he is dominant, but I can't tell if he is not being as dominant as he would prefer to be because I am his new girlfriend.

      He might not be showing me his true colors in bed. As in he might really want to be more dominant in bed than he is being because he's scared that I might be scared off. We usually have sex until we orgasm multiple times, so hours can go by if we'd wanted.
