Is it normal for a narcissist with a shitty personality and social skills to have several friends? I realise that I can't diagnose this person with narcissistic personality disorder but since he is very selfish and tends to blame others it seems relatively likely that he has NPD. I just don't understand how people can put up with this person.

    You have to have 5 or more trates out of 9 to have the disorder.
    And yeah it would be normal... selfish people can have friends.

    My brother was pretty popular and he was very selfish. ..like the world owed him. And he put others down with his intelligence....he had plenty of friends despite having these bad trates.

      Ironically, this guy loves Apple. He doesn't have a lot of friends, though, just a few.

      Not this guy. I can see right through him so he obviously doesn't know how to work his way around people that much. He also treats other people like shit, not just me.

      That seems to be the case. I guess I just don't understand it because I personally can't stand selfish and arrogant people.
