Is it normal for a mother to look through her son's trash?

The son is 47, he puts the trash out and she goes out and dumps it out on the sidewalk.

Does the son drive the mother to appointments or does the mother drive the son to appointments. Thats what matters here.

Maybe the mother/son is sick, or mentally challenged?

Maybe he threw out a hard-drive with 5,000btc a few years ago and she's making sure it doesn't happen again 😂

If that were the case then the son would be living in a mansion by now.

Idk what the circumstances are but it is weird a 47 year old is living with mom. Is he paying for things or is she

I interpreted more as the mother going to the son's house.

Maybe in a country like India or Italy. Its not normal where I live unless the 47yo is taking care of the parents

The Italians have a word for people who live with their parents well into adulthood: "mammone".

The last figures I recall seeing were that something like three-quarters of adult men under 35 in Italy still lived with their parents, and the proportion of women who did so wasn't much lower.

To some extent, that's a reflection of how important family ties are in Italian culture, but a lot of those people would much prefer to live independently. They can't do so because even well-educated Italians find it very difficult to get a secure job that pays enough for them to afford the rent on a decent apartment and all the other expenses of living independently.

Unfortunately securing a well paying job is a problem everywhere. The excuse in the US is that family ties are not nearly as strong as elsewhere. Culturally it is acceptable for parents to kick their kids out during or after collage (not that every parent does)
