Hmm..interesting..this could go two ways. I'm guessing you're kind of worried that he could be like one of those guys who controls his wife. Controls her eating, etc., so without a word, he was letting his wife know that she's eaten enough by taking the rest of her food. How was her body language? Did she look sad, humiliated, hunched over, defeated?
Then again, we could be over-analyzing the entire thing and they could be in a loving relationship and he could tell that his wife was full and probably wasn't going to eat it, so he decided to help himself to it so it wouldn't go to waste.
If you're really concerned though, you should talk to her.
