Is it normal for a guy to write poetry and do you think its attractive?

I been writing poetry to release my feelings for my best friend. I have been in love with her for two years now. Im a 23 yr old man and dont show emotion to anyone but her. I cant talk to her about these feelings so it does help to write poetry. Plus it would be kinda nice if she stumbled across my poetry about her(accidentaly)lol. S is this normal and/or attractive to women?(womens advice please)

I think it's extremely sweet and any girl would be lucky to have a guy who writes poetry for them

If that were me, I would love it. I think everybody is different. I think that some people might get creeped out a little. While others might find it charming. Poetry can be a very beautiful thing depending on how you look at it.

I used to write poetry, some of it for girls. In retrospect, I'm not sure all of them liked it. Maybe they have to be a certain type of person. I think most people would be flattered at the thought you put into it, though.

I personally don't write poetry, but I do commit much of my emotions to writing, usually in the forms of short-stories with generally similar overtones. I find that it helps me, especially in cases where a relationship can't happen (for any of various factors), or when I'm not bold enough to make a move.

I wouldn't be in the position to say anything definite on a woman's behalf, but if your poetry is written well enough, and doesn't come across as stalkery (which I doubt it does, especially if she's already your best friend), I'd have a hard time believing that it would be a hindrance.

Yes but a lot of the time just IME, unless She likes it, I pretend to like it but it's hard to understand and gets boring

Depends on the girl. And their opinions. The way you make it seem with a previous comment, wouldn't hurt if she happened to find some. You may want to date the poems so she won't just think you BSd it in one night.

It would honestly depend on the poetry! If it wasn't well written or used bad adjectives etc. then it might be a little creepy...

why do people have so much trouble talking to woman or telling them how they feel its not that hard yeah if they turn u down its sad and embarrassing but once its over youve got ur answer she knows how you feel and you know how she feels put it all on the line and give it a shot if she feels the same imagine the joy you will feel if not you can stop pineing over the same woman or you can actually work to winn her over :) its easy give it a go

I do work to win her over. She has many of the same feelings I do and she knows how I feel. Shes just scared cuz she travels for work and is gone for 2 or 3 months at a time sometimes even longer. Shes afraid to risk the friendship because no matter what things wouldnt be like they are now if we tried and it didnt work. I can understand her fears cuz by no means do I want our relationship to be ruined. Trust me I do everything in my power to show her how badly I want to be with her. The situation is just a little complicated but the love isnt and its always gonna be there.

what im saying is you two honestly need to talk to each other you said you can show here feelings and emotions so show them let it all pour out, that's awesome you have found the love though man, let her know you wont let the relationship be ruined but there has to be risks :) its what makes the romance :P but could you both stand being away from eacother for long periods of time it would be hard..

in answer to you question though yes most chicks love poetry.

best of luck with it all though i hope it works out :)

Well considering that so many people do appreciate poetry for the art that it truly is, she may not take it as seriously as you may think. Unless she is inclined in that area.
