Is it normal for a guy friend to call you sweetheart and angel when you're sad or sick?

He says it once in a while when I'm not sad but every time I'm even slightly down about something going on in my life, he calls me sweetheart and angel.

We are completely platonic although there's physical attraction, we agreed early on that we are just friends.

So what could this mean? He doesn't call anyone else this, I'm positive.

Is it normal because he cares about me? Like when I was at the hospital for something, he stayed with me and slept there the whole day which I know he cares a lot but he kept saying it's going to be okay angel, so you want anything to eat sweetheart, go to sleep angel etc.

Then when I'm sick with a cold, he brings me soup to my place and asks if I need anything and refers to me as sweetheart and angel.

Is it normal for a guy friend to do this? I'm just curious thanks

    Why did you agree to be "just friends" if there's a physical attraction? It sounds as if he really loves you, what are you waiting for?

    It sounds to me that you are just very important to him. Maybe he thinks of you as a potential future girlfriend but I don't think so, I think it's purely because of how much he cares about you.

    we all just wanna be loved and love, sweetie. sometimes it can feel weird. but people's potential for love is quite enormous!!

    Yes it's normal. Some people are just really sweet and caring towards everyone they meet especially people close to them and they tend to be very affectionate. He could of course also have feelings for you but if you said you don't have feelings for him he's respecting that but still being there for you and letting you know that he cares.
