Is it normal for a company to make employees sit on the floor?

Until last week we had a normal office with cubicles and chairs. That all changed when we moved to a warehouse. They set up our work stations on the floor in really tight rows with only cushions to sit on, no chairs. I used to have two nice monitors and those were replaced with one cheap one. Is this at all normal? We were not given any explanation for the change.

Is It Normal?

  • And no-one has asked why? Ridiculous post or ridiculous employer, I'm not sure which.

  • They are trying to make you quit instead of firing you so you can't collect unemployment. Tell your boss that you cannot work without a desk and chair, if they refuse take a pic of your working conditions and file a complaint with your unemployment board or department of labor. Document every time you speak with them about your work area who you spoke with and what their response was. This is stupid...don't take this crap.

  • What's not normal is that nobody asked boss what's going on. Seriously, not even chairs? That makes no sense.
