whats the reason behind men becoming gay, why are the numbers exploding?
how am i supposed to meet a nice man and make a family, is humanity doomed?
The numbers exploding is an illusion.
The number of homosexuals has likely been the same throughout history, but gays and lesbians were heavily discouraged from expressing their homosexuality in the old days.

It could very well have always been that 1/6 or 7 were gay, but there was no way of knowing before it was acceptable to admit.
i dont think its because of that... it wasn't well exposed nowadays and therefore people didn't look for other options, they just went for straight cause they thought thats all there was. they didnt look further. now everyone is questioning thelselves cause we have much more time now, and we're bored

I'm gay, and I was one of about 4 in my year at school (big school) and I've never encountered another gay man in any job I've had since leaving. I've met 2 lesbians out of well over 100 people, that is all. Otherwise, I've had to go out of my way to meet other gays (internet and bars).
It LOOKS like there's so many LGBT people now, because people won't fucking shut up about it this decade. Like everything else right now, there's a sensationalism and hysteria about this topic in the media, and it's making it feel more pervasive and present than it actually is. In reality, there are no more LGBT people today than there were 20 years ago.
This, gay people are a relatively small part of the population. now, in some areas, the likely hood of encountering a gay person might increase, but still less likely than a straight person.
Now, this does not factor in "Bi-Curious" individuals.
Personally, I can count the number of gay people I have met on my fingers, and I worked for my father's flooring business for a long time, traveling all over the STL metro area. (and I have met a lot of interesting people of all stripes!) granted, the amount of gay people in St Louis, despite being one of the most diverse areas in the midwest US, is probably less than say, in the pacific northwest.
The only difference, is more people come out as gay, and are more open to talk about it, so you just hear a lot more about it.
I've met 8 at least... However you are right; the availability heuristic makes the problem seem bigger than it is.
Take "problem" with a grain of salt; it's not quite the word i'm looking for.
Many millennial are gays but it would be absurd to say that gay is normal.
Be careful whom you pick, get to know them more check their social profiles, check their body language, their style, their friends..

People are more open about it. There are more gay bars, more cliques, new laws, it's in entertainment more.
Sometimes, it's because it looks cool to dumb people. Other times, guys get tired of having to chase and please women, or one or a few bad girls ruined their perception of relationships and sex. Maybe their moms slept around.

I don't think there are more gay men, I think they're just more comfortable coming out now.
It is not true that more men are gay now than in the past. That would make no sense. There have always been gay people but they have always been and continue to be a minority.
I think the gay ones are admitting it more easily, but I have also wondered about the "curious" ones.
