Yeah well it didn't happen so now that we talk to people who don't do the "best things", we should recommend them some useful things that we failed at doing.
Alright, let's adopt this pacifist view then. I only want to say that retaliation installs fear in the enemy and prevents them from attacking. Could be useful temporarily to reduce the damage.
Also there was a time we were driving to Stephenville when a snake slithered out in front of our car nice, and fast. He swerved a little, screamed like a bitch, and exclaimed, "ew, I hate snakes"!

I think the best thing I could have done would have been to leave him as soon as he started becoming verbally abusive.

Well, the best thing that I did was call the cops on his crazy ass, and leave so that is all I care about right now.
Violence wasn't the answer, and it still isn't.
