I mean i read a psychological case study in uni about it so I think it's a thing. Solomon Sherevsky. Amazing Russian mnemonist.

Well its not a supernatural phenomena. It's a neurological condition that means an individual with the condition perceives things differently. It's very, very rare though and it sounds made up so I don't blame your scepticism.
