Is it normal admiring someone whose older than you?

I really like my teacher, in a non sexual way. For stupid reasons unknown I am always observing her for things to connect to my life like we both are the same height, our nails look exactly the same, both have the same hair style etc etc... I just really enjoy her company. And enough is just never enough sometimes. I just admire her in a friend way I guess, were both girls lol. (no I am not gay.)

Is this normal?

    I sometimes feel like some of my teachers would be good friends with me if they weren't my teacher and if we were more around the same age.
