I use Google Chrome with these extensions:
-AdBlock
-FlashControl
-Avast Online Security (comes with the free version of Avast Antivirus)
-Facebook Disconnect (not as important security-wise, but still useful)
For downloading videos, I use the extension "Video Downloader Professional".
It's way safer than clicking download links shown on the page.
It works for most sites, but there are a few I've found that it doesn't. In that case I'm usually able to find a way (by looking at the source code of the page) to get a direct download link.

It's mostly the ads, and stuff that loads in the background, on porn sites that can infect your computer.
Use the right ad blocker, active shield, and use safe surfing habits and you should be fine.
I've only had a problem once, and it was my own fault for doing something stupid. System restore fixed it though.
