Is it normal a friend got pissed off over this?

So, this "friend" of mine got pissed off because I didn't wish him a Happy New Year on New Year's Eve via texting. Now, the thing is that I had already wished him a Happy New Year at Christmas. I always wish people both Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year at the same time at Christmas, so this was nothing personal. He is not a close friend by the way. We haven't even seen each other for months. Is it normal he got pissed off over this?

Is It Normal?

      • If he's going to act immature over an imaginary problem, then maybe you should just end the friendship.

        • I would but he's in my friend group, so it's not that easy.

  • Where did my comment go?
Anyway I was wondering if he is pissed if you didnt call him or if he was in the same room as you.
I dont think most people expect a call or text on new years. The only person I called was my friend who coinsidentally has his birthday on new years eve and I called him earlier in the day.

  • What if he has feelings for your and he felt subbed because, you didn't wish him a happy new year on the day? That's the only thing I can think of. I've actually been in this situation before with a friend. She loved me (I didn't know, much less reciprocate) and would get so offended and angry over very small things.

    • Definitely not possible. He's gay and I'm a woman. He gets pissed off with anyone over the tiniest things you could possibly imagine.
