Is it normal a cat to break a leg in a fall?

Long story short: my friend claims her cat broke his leg in an " accident" she just said he fell off something.
Knowing how agil cats are I find it hard to believe that he could have broken his leg falling from somewhere in the house even on top of a cabinet...I think something else happened and she doesn't want to say. Her demeanor also makes me suspicious. Can a cat really break a bone in a short fall? He's only a two year old cat .

Unlikely but possible. Go with your gut. It sounds like you already know in your gut what happened

I’ve heard of weirded things I suppose.. not entirely impossible.

Seems unlikely if it was something in the house. I've never had it happen to a cat of mine (knock on wood). Cats are typically very good at landing on their feet every time, and it seems highly unlikely that one would break a leg if he/she wasn't extremely frail.
