Is it normal - i'm 18, parents determined for me to come on family holiday

My parent's and younger brother are going to a northern city in the UK on holiday - I don't want to go though.
So instead they're imposing dozens of restrictions on the house, saying I can't have my girlfriend over, can't have friends over, saying they'll lock certain rooms because I 'never remember to lock the front door' (rubbish).

What can I do? It's their house I know, so I guess I'll have to put up with the ridiculous restrictions (I'd never invite friends over for a party - they just don't want me inviting my girlfriend over because they feel I don't want her to meet them. Turns out my Mum even kept a tally of how many times shes had dinner with them... freaky I know, it's not like she's their girlfriend).

So I'll put up with that I guess, but I really don't know what to say to them to make them stop hassling me about coming - they aren't going to change my mind.

What should I do?

    Time is running out before you are completely on your own and moved out if the house. Cherish this time with your family.

    Well You Can Try To Stay At A Friends See If Its Okay With Them If Their Not So Sure Try To Get Your Parents To Talk To Your Friend Or Your Friends Parents :)

      to op of course theyre worried you might have a party, or leave doors unlocked i agree with TheNormalFreak.

    Your parents don't let you have your girlfriend over or host parties? You poor baby.

    Your parents really want you to go to the UK with them. They're making it unbearable for you so you change your mind and go with them. I know i grew up strict but I'm surprised that they even gave you a choice between staying and leaving.

    Wow. Your parents are weird. Who goes to the North on holiday? Apart from York, it's about the least touristy place in the world.

    As for you, if you want to stay home, accept their restrictions. If you behave then maybe next time round there will be fewer of them. They just want to know they can trust you.

    Aw, your parents just want you to go with them. =) I guess you'll just have to put up with the hassling until they leave.
