Is it normal - i don't know how to take care of basic hygiene

Is it normal that I just... don't know how to take care of myself? I don't know anything about hygiene, I was never taught about it, I guess my parents just sorry it expected me to know since it's something so basic. I try to shower every other day, I brush my teeth almost after every meal and I use deodorant, but I feel like I'm doing something wrong. I don't know "obvious" things such as how often should I wash my clothes, what do I do when my feet smell bad(they do every time I take shoes off) , how often it is really normal to shower (my parents tell me every day is too often) , and besides I don't even know how to shower, and I do not know how to take care of penis hygiene. I'm always scared of smelling bad, because I was bullied in primary school and one of the things they used to say was that I stink, I also once had a stage when I wouldn't shower for weeks on end and I had dirt on my body that I could literally see and feel and scratch off. That's over now but it is part of the reason why I'm always kind of scared about it. My family sometimes makes fun of me for trying too hard to look and smell good.

Yeah that's normal, if I grew up in a time before the internet I'd be completely hopeless.

Sounds like you're family are really messed up so whatever you do don't take advice from them on personal hygiene. Showering once a day is ideal.

And washing clothes after each wear is ideal. Unless it's dry clean only.
