  • I understand about swelling, I've met chemo patients and had friends who have gone through it, and yeah, they do swell up a bit and have gained some weight. But I have never met one that gained 200 pounds and became morbidly obese from their treatment.

    • no, no one who has had cemo is normally morbidly obese. Most are around 200lbs(ish) depending on hight. But people still judge them one of my cousins died 5 month ago she had cancer when she was 12 and swelled and she would barley eat anything and what she did eat she would through up. She always told me she felt unconfortable eating out in public because she felt like people would judge her for the things she ate because she was bigger, even though she barley ate anything. I guess that's why I really hate people who judge people and don't know the situation there in because she looked like a normal girl, she didn't lose her hair or anything she looked 'Overweight' but she wasn't it was from swelling.

      • I'm sorry your cousin went through that... I apologize if I made it seem as though I have an issue with ALL fat people. What I do have an issue with is people who let themselves get over 300-400 pounds, i.e. morbidly obese. The people I've seen who get to that point are there because they never exercised a day in their life, and "healthy eating" means "hearty" eating. True, not everyone can be a skinny rail, and medicines can make someone gain weight (I gained about 10 pounds from the antidepressants I take). What really pisses me off is when a size 7 is considered fat. Anyway, sorry about the rambling :-P I can totally understand why you feel upset when people judge others based on weight..
