My father was burned really badly all over his body, including his face in 2001. He was in the hospital for almost a year and needed skin grafts in several places including his eyelids. The burns are still very obvious and visible, and they will always be but he lives pretty well with it. He hated it at first, but i talked to him about it about a year ago, and he said that they aren't really significant anymore, and that he's almost proud of them because they show how much he's been through and survived.
