If your country was in danger, would you

I can't stand war. I hate how people can't just sit down and negotiate. I would take part by joining a soldier pen pal program and send care packages.

I'm no fighter, and I see no shame in that at all.

I think I'd be out of there as fast as I could. I wouldn't think of it as a moral obligation to join the military; you could agrue the opposite.

It would depend on what caused it. If I believe what my country is fighting for is justified - I would do my civil duty and defend the fatherland.

Move to the mountains with my family.

I would join the military and do what I must, no doubt about it.

I would start an underground resistance movement, because I love this country but it seems i really cant stand almost anybody that goes into the armed forces...

I refuse to die just because of collateral damage. So I'd pack up my stuff and leave as soon as possible.

I would either go to Canada or go to Europe. Preferably, England or France.

I believe in peace, I don't agree with revenges of war.
I was thinking to myself today, that I noticed that "Modern america" seems to have a problem fighting on "their" land, but not on others....

It also depends on what age of man it is. If it's in the future, I would think that Earth would have at least befriended other worlds in the universe. People could always move to another planet until the strife on this world ended, or they might decide to stay there forever.

Maybe, I might take up the martial arts and become a Buddhist monk. But there isn't peace in the land of monasteries. Ever heard of "Free Tibet" or "Free Burma"?
Also, I find it hard to become peaceful for long periods at a time so something would have to effect me enough so, I could achieve that.

Then again, in some freak accident or something of my own doing, I may fall in a toxic vat or one day suddenly wake up with superpowers. Depending on what they are, I could potentially save the world.

Only time will tell....

Join the army of course. Our army (Finnish Defence Forces) consists mostly of reserves and during war all men of age 18-60 (or something) would be drafted.

If I didn't join the army, I would probably be shot for high treason.

go solo, I know plenty about many types of historical and modern weaponry, both how to use them and how to kill. I do HEMA every day and I also head down to the range to keep accurate so yeah

For me that's a simple answer; guerrilla action. I'm too old to join the army and I like the freedom a non-governmental fighting force allows. I was very, very good at my job in Vietnam, and I never had to "sir" anybody or wear a uniform.

This is a very flawed post. You might not realize but in times of war they sometimes have what they call a draft. So if you are a coward are not chances are you are going to get drafted.

Release my army of undead monstrosities upon the world!

Being in the US I think I would move to New Mexico or some other state thats mostly desert and find myself a place in the middle of nowhere. Someplace I couldn't be drafted and someplace so desolate it wouldn't be worth invading.

I would gather my family, do and/or sell whatever I had to in order to gather a stockpile of arms and prepare to defend myself and be self sufficient. Good thing living in Oklahoma has taught me how to live off of our natural resources. I would live like a King!

depends how bad my country needs me. if enough guys wanna risk their lives i'll let them go ahead. If my country needs me (and i believe in the cause) I'll sure as hell join up to kick some ass!

I don't know if I'd be able to sign up for battle but if I was drafted then I'd give it my all! Other than that I'd just be a nurse for the wounded since I'm already a regular nurse =P lol

I never seen the "Take some sort of action" option. I think I would do that. I think if you are in the army, you are expected to put your life on the line even when you know you're most likely going to die, which is what I would try to avoid.
If I could take any type of action myself or with a group of others that want to do the same, I would do that. You wouldn't be forced to put your life on the line when you know you would most likely die. You could perhaps make bombs and plant them in areas to attack the enemy? Things like that. I personally don't know how to make them, although I'm pretty stealthy and would be able to plant them...

I wouldn't be a good soldier and so I'd probably make plans to secure myself and family. If they need help at the hospital or something I might to that too. I don't know..... depends on where the fighting is happening and why.

Depends why we are being invaded. If the reason was not legitimate, I would commit to anything that would aid the defense of my country.

I don't know. I would assess the whole thing and see if we have a more probable rate of winning than losing. I can't really say I would, I can't say I wouldn't join the army either. Although, me fleeing the country is something that will be in my head in such a situation.

Well, I already completed a Navy tour so... yeah i'd sign up. just not for the army =)
