If you were to learn another language, which would it be?

  • I took French back in the 9th grade in high school. Looking back on it now, it was a poor decision. Taking Spanish would have been much more practical because there were lots of Mexicans at my school. I just had to be different though... I don't really remember much from that class. That was back when I used to smoke ganja and didn't care a whole lot about school. I still have the book though, so I suppose I could still learn if I really wanted to. I doubt I'll want or probably ever have any need to though.

This may be really typical or something, but I watched the original 'Girl with the Dragon Tattoo' movies, the Swedish versions, and from what I could glean from them, I really enjoyed the way much of it sounded when spoken. I think if I was going to learn another language, that one wouldn't be too bad. It seemed like there were quite a few words that were pretty similar to English too, so maybe the transition wouldn't be too bad.

However, that being said, I could be completely wrong. It could have been just the actors and they could have been completely off or something, it's just a movie after all, so I know I can't base my full impressions for something so diverse as a whole language, off of that alone. I would really enjoy some insight on the language though if anybody is fluent.

Someone please diversify this poor soul!
