They are going to send 4 people to live on mars every other year for purely research purposes. They will NEVER be allowed to return to earth. They have to pass an extensive psych eval to go, because most people would go crazy and kill themselves under these conditions.
Oh, thank you. I was getting anxious- I was starting to think nobody realized this is already taking place. There's a rumor that they're going to add people every so many years, as well as a distant rumor that they may make a reality show of it.
