I kind of prefer thin girls in general.
An excess of fat just... bothers me. It's like... doughy and feels kind of unnatural on a woman my age (20). And the way it hangs out of their clothes...
Petite women just seems healthier and cuter. I'm not considered petite myself, but still =/
hehe, don't you mind not being considered petite-
after all, it's just the feminine french word for "small/little", or, as a friend of mine put it:
"Petite? Thats just the new european word for loli. Since lolita is now all-mixed-up with pederasty and pedophiles, people went to look for a new word. And really, look at your average "petite" girl. It's the same deal, just this time they were smart enough to not include an implied age."
Dunno if i got it exactly, but the general idea is there ;) Anyway, i was just trying to say: The grass is always greener on the other side :P I fall into this category and if i put on even a bit of weight, i look weird(any weight goes to all the wrong places), and i'd sometimes wish i had bigger breasts. *shrug*
But generally i agree..."doughy" and hanging out of clothes is a no-no!
Petite isn't a new European word to replace lolita; it's been applied to women of 'small stature' since before Lolita was anything other than a name.
"Since lolita is now all-mixed-up with pederasty and pedophiles"... It always was. It comes from the 1955 Nabokov novel dealing with those themes. It was never a clean, innocent term applied to short women or women who look child-like. Nobody said "Oh you know, she's short... young looking girl. She's a lolita." Or "I need a dress but I'm a small size... A lolita size".
Not to insult your friend but I don't think they got the facts quite right :)
jeez....
just take a lighthearted comment as what it is :)
i know it's an old word, but at least in non-french european countries, "petite" was not as widely used as it's today. Thats what she referred to.
As for lolita, i know it comes from the novel, but there, it's actually bidirectional between the girl and the man, AND she's fully in her puberty.
In a reality check, loli is also full-on applied to preteen-girls and mixed up with guys that just want those girls without any "bidirectionality."
Also, as for "shopping", lolita was more of a style than a size, but the size was politely not implied. Yes, you could be XXXL and still shop for lolita style. People would laugh about you behind your back, but have your fun.
Either way, i did not mean to teach neuro about facts regarding petite, lolita or pedophilia, it was only meant as a non-too-serious comment.
I found what my friend told me humorous in a certain cynic way and remembered it here, i am sorry it rubbed you the wrong way.
It's normal to prefer them, since most guys want a girlfriend who's smaller. However, if you're very tall yourself, dating a petite girl has its disadvantages. Mainly because you DO feel like a pedophile when leaning in for a kiss. In my opinion, it's best if the height difference isn't much more than 20 cm
