Here I will assume that "magic powers" means being 30th level in all D&D 3.5 caster classes, with all spells and all magic-related feats available. I would try to keep my casting abilities secret as long as possible. My first action would be to set up many contingency spells to protect myself from all forms of harm. (If attacked>dimension door away, if falling>feather fall, if gun pointed at me>protection from missiles, etc.) I would then create a few magic items (pen with infinite ink, yay mundane uses for godlike powers!). After that I would go about my life as normal, using spells whenever it wouldn't expose me (silent+still casting means that's almost all the time). I might eventually reveal my abilities to my close friends, with plenty of mind-altering spells ready if there are problems. Or I could just raise dead people for an exorbitant fee (spell components aren't free (hello diamonds)). If I got bored, I would reveal my powers to the general public (I'm already the school computer wizard, why not be the school wizard/cleric/sorcerer/every other caster class?). I might even decide to take over the world (I mean come on a level 30 caster in one class is already equivalent to a lesser god, add all the classes and all the feats, well...
"I am become death, destroyer of worlds", anyone?) and succeed, at which point I would abolish all government, and then every few years wipe out any new governments that spring up.
If you had magical powers, what would you do with it?
