Those who have taken away others' free will by committing crimes against them, have acted irresponsibly.
'Rights' are earned through responsible behaviour.
Those who have committed these types of crimes, could then be deprived of any rights that they have earned.
They would have had to earn these rights, in the first place.
You are simply following an Ancient penal tenet system. This has been proven to be ineffectual, and often inhumane, in dealing with criminal issues.
If you had magical powers, what would you do with it?

Unfortunately for you, and luckily for the rest of us, you do not have that kind of power.
How is killing someone, not taking away someone's free will?

Some people deserve to die.
Those that take away others' free will by committing crimes against them deserve to have their own free will taken away.

It doesn't matter if it's an ancient system.
If I had magical powers, I'd be able to make it work.
