If you had magical powers, what would you do with it?

  • The death penalty would exist worldwide as Death by Me.
People would be too scared to commit crimes as they would never get the opportunity to live in luxury in jail. I'd just find them and take them out, the moment they attempt to steal, kill or rape.
The population group that I'd systematically destroy first would be the criminals. I suppose genocide isn't really the right word, but I'd be willing to act as that necessary evil to right the wrongs of the world by removing those with corrupt morals.

In a way, I'd be 'purifying the world' like Hitler, but targeting people based on their morals, rather than physical characteristics - something that can only be accomplished with magical powers.

    • So you are a self-professed dictator?

      How Unethical. How Archaic.

      • So?
If I was that powerful, people would just have to put up with it.
Good people may get helped by me and bad people will suffer at my hands.
I'll be loved by some and hated by others.

I'd have the power to change the world for the better.
Many people wouldn't mind a dictator if he makes their lives better.
It's not like I'd be taking away anyone's free will, I'd just be removing those from society that influence the lives of others in a negative way.

        • Unfortunately for you, and luckily for the rest of us, you do not have that kind of power.

How is killing someone, not taking away someone's free will?

          • Some people deserve to die.

Those that take away others' free will by committing crimes against them deserve to have their own free will taken away.

            • Incorrect.

Those who have taken away others' free will by committing crimes against them, have acted irresponsibly.

'Rights' are earned through responsible behaviour.
Those who have committed these types of crimes, could then be deprived of any rights that they have earned.
They would have had to earn these rights, in the first place.

You are simply following an Ancient penal tenet system. This has been proven to be ineffectual, and often inhumane, in dealing with criminal issues.
