If you don't want kids, why?

I'm at a stage of my life where I don't think I want kids. I tried thinking of reasons on why I do want kids but I can't think of any.

I like them, I just don't see myself as a parent 25
I just don't like them 30
I'd rather focus on my work 4
Health complications 4
The process of giving birth scares me or worries me 13

    -My family has crappy genetics. I'd just be passing on mental disorders, spine issues, neck issues, diabetes, asthma, and a crap load of cancers.
    -I don't want to spend money raising a kid when I could be spending that money on myself.
    -I lack that "maternal instinct". I really don't have the patience to deal with a child's mindset.

      I'm the same for the last two. I'd rather spend money on myself or a future partner (like gifts or special events). And my maternal instinct is just nonexistent.

    I used to want my own children and family as a way to breathe life back into my own but lately i feel like its just futile. With what can happen to yours/ours sons or daughters nowadays i would feel better being without children or anything to have to be worried or concerned about. Hell i can barely even take care of myself financially.

    My bf really wants kids with me but I don't know if it's a great idea. Both of our families have a history of health issues, neither of us are even 20 yet, we don't have the money (My job barely pays over minimum wage and my bf was just laid off and is looking for another job) i don't know how great I'll be with a kid, my bf has a short temper sometimes, and also loads of other things.

    I haven't figured my own life out, bringing a kid into the world would be a horrible idea. I also just don't like kids.

    I don't want them because the world is overpopulated and bringing another kid when there are plenty of orphans in the world just seems selfish to me. :/

    I think one reason is because they think kids ruin marriages, and they themselved have divorced parents, so they naturally believe its true.
