If you don't like opinions, leave.

For those of you who keep saying "I don't want/ didn't ask for/ don't value your opinions":
Why the hell are you on a site that specifically pertains to asking opinions?
I keep noticing these replies to people as some kind of point. "Yeah well, who asked your opinion?" The site did, that's who... obviously.
So please, give me some reason as to why you're on this site if you don't think opinions mean anything, other than "Just to be a jerk."

Help us keep this site organized and clean. Thanks!

  • Right?

For fucksakes and it's always the people that are asking questions like "IIN to have sex with my horse?" or "IIN to jerk off to my mom?"

    • Are you somehow implying it's not okay to jerk off to my mom?

    • Somebody died in a nearby town a few years ago fucking their horse. In the same town somebody was recently caught with 4000 hours of filmed beastiality porn they made. That town now has a bad reputation and beastility has recently been outlawed in this state.

  • I've never noticed anyone saying that, but I'm not reading as many posts as I used to so it's possible I've overlooked it.

  • Something that really annoys me is when people get down voted for their opinions. I understand that some comments are just distasteful, but it really annoys me how some people on this site seem to discourage having a difference in opinion.

    • Since the biggest percentage of this site operates on "Band wagon logic" and "Black and white thinking" of "If you are not with us. Your must be against us".

  • Amen to that!

  • I've seen that a few times, but only when the person is being a jerk, otherwise I haven't seen that being said too often ----- yet. Sounds like a pretty natural reaction when someone is being mean or hurtful, though. I don't think they mean it in a literal sense, but maybe they do.

  • I concur, but people seem to come here for different reasons, including but not limited to self affirmation, having a forum to vomit their opinions all over others, the need to hear themselves speak, and compliment fishing.

Luckily, there are a fair amount of people who use this site for legitimate reasons and give good advice.

  • Yeah!!!! Wait-what are we talking about again?

  • I hate it when people are completely close-minded on this site. It seems like exactly the kind of site to promote open-mindedness, yet we still get people that are just closed to any opinions that don't agree with theirs. "Am I beautiful?" No, maybe you're a troll. If you didn't want to hear it, don't ask.

Commenters can be guilty of this, too. You're entitled to your opinion, but at least think before you post it. If I have to read another comment that just says "ew" or "wtf", I'm going to stab a hole through my monitor. I'm still reeling from that thread a couple days ago about incest fantasies, and half the comments were telling the OP to go die.

  • This post is about opinions. So, opinions about opinions are right on topic. Off topic opinions, especially the non-sequitur type are not valued or welcomed. Personal attacks can be amusing. Usually they do nothing more than demonstrate lack of wit and narrow mindedness.

  • When the Op does it, it makes me wonder why they came for advice in the first place. Other opinions whether they're nice, blunt, helpful, or trollish should be expected when asking a question on the internet.
