While I personally have a fear of driving cars, and as of now airplanes are the safest mode of transportation, a lot of the most destructive attacks in the past century up until now might not have been possible without airplanes or some form of air travel. Just to name a few:
Bombs dropped during WWI
The London Blitz
Pearl Harbor
Hiroshima and Nagasaki
Agent Orange
9/11
Then again, similar attacks might have occurred without air travel, but it’s extremely ironic considering that The Wright Brothers initially thought the airplane would bring an end to all wars.
