I dunno, morning shows are generally live. Sometimes in smaller markets a morning show will be from satellite. Yeah, I wouldn't care to much for someone who was always talking about being drunk, but I dunno that sort of thing is more acceptable on an AOR station.
A lot of stations in smaller markets tend to be automated, or go to satellite on weekends, or on overnights.
So... why'd you quit radio, if you don't mind me asking? Was it the reason you mentioned above? What'd you do afterwards? Seems like younger folks getting into the business would be more interested in podcasting or something more internet related.
If you could dis-invent one thing, what would it be?

There's one jockey on in the morning during my commute to work who's always bragging about being drunk... wonder if that was prerecorded.
