If you could be any other animal for one day, which one would you be and why?
A cat, if my username doesn't already give it away. Whenever I see a neighborhood cat, I think about how great it would be to wake up every single day and have absolutely no responsibilities, free to do what I want. Sleeping all day, exploring the neighborhood, etc.
A brown wolf.
"Why?" Because being a wolf seems so free, you know running with their pack, they seem like the most free animal. Also having a family that would freaking die for you. I love being in the woods and being able to just run. I know being a wolf there is that rule "Survive" but I be cool with still eatting deer, like who doesn't love deer meat.
This post is a coincidence. I've been thinking about this lately. I would love to be an eagle just to fly freely anywhere I want to while not having to worry about threats as it's at the top of the food chain and the strongest bird. Also, visiting loved ones who lived far away from my town would've been a breeze. <3
I thought of something similar but then the question came up "But would my family recognize me in my bird form?" I don't think they would. If it's for a day then I'll need to stay as a bird for the trip back too. Unless I can change back at will, but OP did not specify that. I'll stick with being a bird anyway. XD
Same. I mean we can still have those nice majestic huge ass wings to fly around for freedom while doing some adventuring even though we can't meet people since we can't transform at will. I mean, you don't get a chance to flap some big meaty wings every day in life so might as well still go for that choice. :-D
I'm late af, but I'd want to be a sloth. They just hang in trees all day eating leaves and sleeping. I basically do the same thing as a human, but it makes me a burden to others so I would like to be a sloth so I wouldn't feel guilty about it. I also find it really cool how they have little ecosystems in their fur, they're never really alone.
Good question. It'd depend on whether I'd retain my full human intelligence or not. If I didn't then, if I became a fish or something, even if I still had all my memories of being human and planning what to do when I changed into a fish, I'd still be too simple to comprehend the whole situation. And so I'd probably just ignore those confusing incomprehensible memories and just instinctually go around doing fish stuff. Therefore I wouldn't be able to take advantage of the situation and try to find sunken treasure or just experiment and have fun or whatever else I had planned, so it would be a bit of a waste then. I'd still be able to think back on what it was like afterwards, when I turned back into a human, but I wouldn't be able to take full advantage of the situation at the time. It would be cool though to experience what it'd be like to be such a basic autonomous creature.
So I'd have to choose a mammal anyway, any other animal wouldn't be intelligent enough. A dolphin would be the obvious alternative then for an underwater animal rather than any fish. A dolphin would be an excellent choice overall anyway since I could then compare my intelligence as a dolphin to that when I was a human, since dolphins are one of the smartest animals on the planet. Not to mention exploring the depths of the ocean would be like exploring another world.
A chimpanzee would also be a great choice since they're so similar to us physically as well as mentally. So it'd be a good chance to compare the psychology of a chimpanzee to that of a human.
Regardless of what animal you decided on it'd be a huge opportunity for scientists to learn about how other animals experience the world.
If I did retain full human intelligence though then I think I'd choose a bird so that I could fly. That would be a dream come true.
