I guess you're strictly New English, and could be English if your parents are English. Generally, though, if you're from New York (or New Amsterdam) or New Mexico, you're not from York, Amsterdam, or Mexico.
Really? I had no idea about any of them which makes this a bit of a weird coincidence.
Do towns in New York differ in their names from towns in other states, do you think? Reason I ask is that British town names often tell you how old the town. I was wondering whether the different European influences in New York give the same kind of thing.
