But seriously, if you go into the wild, and you are killed by a wild animal, people should just hold a funeral, mourn you, and learn not to go out into the wild like you did.
There is no gain in going out and killing that animal. Any animal which has the capacity to kill a human, might do. In which case the argument could be made for just going out and killing all wild animals that might kill a person in future. And that's ridiculous.
We should just accept that the wild is, well, a wild place and that we are not the only dangerous predators in the world. For the most part, humans have made it clear what is "their" land, it's buildings and fields. Beyond these bounds, humans should not expect special treatment.
I may be biased, as I am a pagan and if I was stupid enough to be killed by a wild animal, I'd hate to see that perfectly entitled wild animal shot just because it killed me. It doesn't have the capacity for reason like a human does.
