carnivores need to eat, and if they so happen to encounter a human on THEIR land, (which is basically the moment you step outside of your house) you're free game.
the animal should not be killed for wanting to feed itself or family, it would be like some foreign alien species coming down to us and killing every human who kills a cow.
of course if the animal had some sort of sickness such as rabies that made it purposely seek out humans or surplus killing, then yes i think that would be the only justified reason.
