    I'm not looking foward to becoming 18 at all because I won't be able to be with the girl I've fallen in love with anymore.

      Actually if you are within a few years of eachother it is still acceptable legally.
      ie An 18yo (adult) can go out with a 16yo (girl) quite legally.
      But a 25yo wanting to go out with a 16 or 15 yo may be prosecuted.

      So, unless your Gf is say under 13 (more than 5years apart) then all is ok.
      You can confirm your personal laws to where you live on those government websites.

      Know that the law is not going to break up your relationship. Don't let others fool you because you may still be naive and young yourself.
