I think that award goes to tobacco, actually.
Statistics say no, at least in the U.S. Tobacco is definitely second on the list, though. Then prescription drugs take the next few places after that.
According to the WHO, around 6 million die from tobacco and 3 million die from alcohol, worldwide.
I'm not at all surprised. Alcohol abuse (especially long term) is devastating to the brain and body. But it's not the most dangerous, it kills the most people because it's the most consumed. For example, heroin is far more dangerous.
I'll check into that.
Idiots who don't consider alcohol a drug, then judge other drug users.
