I wet the ends of my hair and stick it in my ear as a daily habit

When I was a little girl, I had this doll that eventually lost her long, gorgeous locks. I would soothe myself by cuddling with her hair against my ear. I discovered that if I positioned her a certain way, her short, pointy-like hair would tickle my ear in the most comforting way. I felt at peace. As I grew older, I experimented with my own hair... I was hooked for life!!

You know those hard-to-reach ear itches that just drive you absolutely mad?!.. That is my absolute favorite time to go to work on my hair-to-ear obsession! Normally, I only do the deed when I’m alone or in the privacy of my own home. But when I have an itch in there, I’ll find a way to get that hair penetrating ASAP! Sometimes, people ask me if I’m on the phone- I guess that’s because that’s exactly what it looks like as I try to hide what I’m doing behind my long hair as I lean forward (to make sure that it’s not visible what I’m doing).

I think about sticking my hair in my ears all day long! I think about it all day while I’m at work or while I’m in public. I indulge in my secret obsession while I’m driving alone in my car, but I still wonder what people think I’m doing if they see me as I drive by. I always grab a pinch of my hair and lightly wet it in my mouth, about half an inch in length. I position the hair in my hand, as if holding a pencil, and go to work until I hit that perfect spot in my ear that starts making loud noises that only I can hear. (I imagine that it’s hitting pretty close to my ear drum). Oh my, it’s just the most peaceful and comforting feeling that I’ve ever endured in my life! No one knows my secret, although my mom jokes about it- so I’m thinking she is on to me! Yikes! I don’t want anyone to know! It’s my little secret. And I just recently googled “sticking my hair in my ears,” and up came this website! And boy, am I glad that I am not the only one! Although I wish to remain anonymous, I am thrilled that I am not the only one with this habit! My boyfriend of over five years still doesn’t know and as long as I can help it, he never will!

When I have doctor appointments, I always worry that when they take a peek into my ears with the scope, they will know what I am up to. I also worry that I am causing harm to my eardrums, which would be horrifying to think that I’ll have to stop. I am not prone to ear infections although in the last four years, I’ve had two occasions when I had them. I still continued to stick my hair in my ears, but I had to do it with caution as it was painful and stinky. It wasn’t enough to stop me!

I am writing this post as I indulge in my habit about 20 hours a week, it’s like a part-time job! As I do not judge others, I am curious what other people’s habits or obsessions are. Every human has a story and this is mine. Please feel free to comment or ask questions regarding this post!

Respectfully,
Lovely

Still sticking my hair in my ears at age 71! Unfortunately, wax build up on the ear drum causes hearing problems - I must now get my ears cleaned out by a specialist - and he is stymied as to how the ear wax gets attached to my ear drums. I never confess.

I love it when I put my hair inside my ear and tickle the inside until I can not stand the urge to itch. And I pick up the q-tips and itch until I feel something like an orgasm

It's self-satisfaction, and fairly normal. When I was in h.s., my hair was longer, and I'd do the same thing, take the back of it and poke it into my ear, then move it back and forth for that scratching an itch feeling. I'd also use pen caps or, at home, q-tips, with the swab twisted into a fine, hair-like shape. Never had an ear infection or problems. It's just a habit and, as long as you don't use sharp objects that will hurt you, fine.

Isn't it ticklish? I'm wondering how does it help with the itch. I understand ear picking but never thought someone could do it with hair.
