I wouldn't say "normal" perse, like I wouldn't condone it or tell my kids it's okay for them to keep doing it, but it is common and kids don't really know any better.
Let's just put it this way- you're not abnormal and you and your brothers didn't do anything wrong. This isn't something for any of you to punish yourselves over or feel ashamed of. Your babysitter should feel ashamed, though, as they should've been watching you. You were just kids.
