Sadly in this situation it's very easy to blame the ex-girlfriend, but it's obviously the boyfriends fault. I remember when I broke up with the 1st person I ever dated he told my "best friend" anything she wanted to hear to get with her. After they were even together he would stalk me and call me and ask if I would take him back. And he would show up at my house. I tried to just be nice and be friends with him. I mean we did date three years! But she freaked out and even though I owed her nothing I had no issues letting him go. The moral of the story is, that you can't blame her for what he does. He obviously mistreating the both of you.
