When ever I'm on a social network (ie facebook, form spring) I like to look at people to see if they have conversations about me to know who is really my friend. On Formspring I send messages to my best friends asking if I'm a asshole (3rd person) to see what they say and then continue to interrogate them to see how they really feel about me. I have always been very self conscious. Is this normal?

    Its normal wanting to know what people think about you, if they feel the same way you do about them.

    Its just not very honest doing 'fidelity tests' by asking them anonymously... But then again, everybody does that. Just don't go over the top. Try asking yourself how would your friends feel if they somehow knew you were asking the questions. If the answer is not hurt, than its okay.

    Don't waste your time looking for problems. They'll come out on their own eventually over time. That's pretty lame to waste your time doing that.

    I do it sometimes, I think it's normal. don't let it get outta hand though
